New Partner for UK: Veolia

WEEElogic GmbH, the service-provider for Pan-European batteries, packaging and WEEE compliance and take-back solutions, has extended its partner network. Veolia ES WEEE Compliance Scheme (UK) Limited has become WEEElogic exclusive partner for serving customers in the United Kingdom. For WEEElogic, this is another step in completing its setup and extending its network across Europe.

“With Veolia on board, we are now able to handle all major and several smaller countries across Europe. This is a substantial progress for all of our take-back obligated clients”, said Romain Letenneur, Managing Director of WEEElogic. Veolia offers compliance and take back solutions for b2c and b2b customers as well as battery customers via its BatteryBack scheme. Its WEEE Scheme is one of the largest in the UK with over 130 companies registered in 2014, placing a combined 100,000 tonnes of EEE on the UK market.

Clement Gaubert, Veolia WEEE Scheme Manager added: “This move means WEEElogic’s comprehensive range of services which are designed to simplify compliance management are now available to UK companies trading in mainland Europe and their European counterparts trading here. We are ideally placed to provide WEEElogic’s services in line with national obligations and expand our membership and take-back operations among producers, manufacturers, importers, retailers, distance sellers and waste holders.“

As the European one-stop offering for WEEE, batteries, and packaging, WEEElogic offers services to producers, importers, distance sellers, and distributors in the areas of compliance management, take-back operations, as well as consulting and extra services. One of WEEElogic’s focuses is a centralized approach to support companies in rightsizing compliance management, with the ambition to analyze and reduce compliance costs. National partners like Veolia contribute their expertise in local waste management, market knowledge and operations.
Founded by the French scheme Ecologic and the Germany-based 1cc GmbH in 2013, with the goal of providing a simple solution for obligated parties, WEEElogic has already started working with producers and distributors for various markets in Europe. 1cc is able to add to the company’s services legal and consulting expertise on waste and several other environmental legislations. Specifically for UK, it is, due to some unusual regulations in the area of waste management, important for WEEElogic to have a reliable partner there, able to ensure qualitative services to all clients.
